Stream: Turn It Out - Kinds

September 04, 2016 in stream

Turn It Out is a lovely slinky number from Kinds, made up of duo Mark Morrish and Karen Warner.

Having worked in the studio together over the past few months to write and produce new music, Turn It Out is a manifestation of Morrish and Warner's determination to make the best out of difficult times. Discussing the track the band say:

"The song's coming from a very dark place.. It’s about dealing with certain events and emotions in our lives to create something empowering and uplifting. We wanted to replicate this with the emotion in the lyrics and instrumentation in the verses, set against the heavy rhythms - with optimism shining through in the chorus.

"Instead of immersing ourselves in this dark state we wanted to create a song with a level of optimism set against these negative thoughts and experiences."

Check out Turn It Out below and catch Kinds in person when they perform a free live show at Birthdays in Dalston on 7 September at 9:45pm.
