Stream: Flashed (prod. by Erlend Øye) - D E N A

Perfect for your end of the week lazy vibes, this new single is taken from DENA's debut album Flash, due through Normal Surround / !K7 on 11 March. In German youth culture 'flashed' apparently means you're into something, and that is what gives the track it's upbeat and playful style.

The production work comes from Erlend Øye, of Whitest Boy Alive / Kings of Convenience fame and they is an unmistakable hint of Scandinavian cool present here. Consider me flashed.

Stream: I See You - The Horrors

The Horrors are something of an enigma. Having started badly they rapidly ascended to quite great on their second and third albums (channeling Can and Simple Minds respectively). Here on this new lyrics video for I See You, lifted from forthcoming album Luminous, they sound something like they took a dab of MDMA whilst attempting to playing one of their earlier more introspective records.

The result is like a happy nosebleed.

Luminous comes out on May 6 through XL in the US - UK release date TBC as far as I know.

Serendipity brought Fickle Friends to my attention courtesy of Soundcloud and I had to share. Fickle Friends are a Brighton based five piece and SWIM has a sunny 80s new wave pop sheen that I'm enjoying. Check out both the original and the slightly bouncier Paperwhite Remix below:

Stream: Sweet Spot - Wild Beasts

Following on from the excellent Wanderlust this new track from Wild Beasts' new album Present Tense has me excited for the album... It's a bit of a build, but the big chords that cut through the track from 3:15 are beautiful.

Present Tense is released through Domino on 24 February.
