Video: Fire - TOYS

Electronic Parisian act TOYS have just released this gorgeous short film / music video to accompany their track Fire. The video is the creation of French director Louis De Caunes staring Blue Is The Warmest Colour star Adèle Exarchopoulos opposite her real-life partner, Parisian actor and model Jérémie Laheurte.

This video is an edited version Apnee, a short film to be broadcast on French TV channel Canal Plus on 1st December. The full short features an extended version of TOYS' single 'Fire' as the soundtrack.

According to director Caunes:

Apnée' is about the birth of a love story and the intense and contradictory feelings you can experience at the very beginning of a relationship. Toys scored the short film and it felt right to also release it as a music video for the theme song of the film, 'Fire', as it talks exactly about the feelings depicted in the film by Adèle Exarchopoulos and Jérémie Laheurte. We have an ongoing collaboration with Toys that started with a music video and continued with a couple of commercials that they scored. Now this. It feels to me like it just gets better and better, but I might be blinded by love.

Stream: London x Paris - Sofi de la Torre

London x Paris is a big slice of pop-R&B that has been bouncing around my head since Spanish artist Sofi de la Torre recently dropped it in support of her forthcoming Mess EP. The track deals with those relationships where one person is giving more than the other. The EP also features previous single and EP title track Mess.

Stream: Wolfpack - TALA X Banks

This dropped last week but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. In support of her current EP Malika, TALA has just released single Wolfpack, a collaboration with R&B artist Banks. On this track both artists bring the best out of each other - Banks' vocals are as dusty and sultry as ever, whilst the atmospheric and reverb-heavy production wraps that whole thing up in a sensual, grimy futurist feel. There are a number of little details in this track that I love, little squeals and skittering drums.

So much love for this.

Stream: Empty Hands - Pr0files

LA duo Pr0files are back and Empty Hands is another slowly sensual slice of electric dream pop and probably their best track since last year's infectious Forgive, the track which first introduced me to the band and made it into my top-20 favourite songs of the year list. 

On Empty Hands Lauren Pardini's vocals tell a tale of betrayal, friendship and love against the trademark chugging synth melodies Pr0files have already made their trademark.

Alongside this new track, the band have today announced their forthcoming debut album Jurassic Technologie, due in February 2016. It's sure to be one to look out for!
