Stream: Waiting For You - Sunday

May 18, 2016 in stream

So far up my street, it's practically squeezing through my letterbox... This new track is a blissful shower in warm memories and day dreams. Waiting For You was conjured from the Californian desert by Australian producer Aaron Shanahan, prog-dance band Miami Horror's singer and musical director.

This is the first track to come from Sunday and it's dripping in impatient sensuality - encapsulating the fizzy excitement of love not yet captured. Warm basslines, shifting rhythms, modulated synths and a breathless falsetto make this an absolutely winning debut.

I went to the desert and heard a sound that healed my heart and calmed my soul https://www.facebook.com/musicsundaymusic Purchase It Here: http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1113078694?ls=1&app=itunes

Elohim

Stream: Sensations (Wheathin Remix) - Elohim

May 18, 2016 in stream

Los Angeles based artist Elohim started getting attention last year with her first two singles She Talks To Much and Xanax, subsequently released as a AA-side 12" through B3SCI Records, and the follow up AA-side Bridge And The Wall and Pigments.

Back now with her debut self-titled EP, Elohim unveiled the lead track Sensations at the end of last month... It was one of those tracks that slipped through the net as a result of general life commitments, but thanks to this great remix from Wheathin I have an excuse to share it anyway. The original is a rowdy epic pop drama - on this new version Wheathin adds a ridiculous EDM build-up and drop... It's not clever, but it is lots of fun.

Elohim's debut EP is out on Friday - you can pre-order it on vinyl here. Check out both the remix and the original track below.

Hope you guys like this one.

Stream: It All Comes Back To You - Remote Places

May 17, 2016 in stream

Remote Places is the solo project of producer and DJ Justin Geller, best known for his work within the group Pink Skull. That group moved through a number of house-influenced sounds before mutating into a live psych-krautrock outfit, the echoes of which can be heard here.

Debut EP Nights And Weekends was co-produced and recorded with Jeff Zeigler, known for his work with Was On Drugs and Kurt Vile... If It All Comes Back To You is anything to judge things by, the end result is a dreamy krautrock / shoegaze track full of swooping melodies, distortion and yearning.

Yumi Zouma

Stream: Short Truth - Yumi Zouma

May 17, 2016 in stream

We are super close to New Zealand outfit Yumi Zouma's debut full length release Yoncalla, and it's a peach of a record - packed full of exactly the sort of soft-chords and harmonies we have come to expect. Back to tease us with another track, the band have recently unveiled another new track...

Short Truth is a lovely warm and upliftingly weightless track, those trademark muted guitars, warm keys vocal harmonies... Welcome to the sound of summer.

Limited 12": smarturl.it/YZYoncallaVinyl Apple: smarturl.it/YumiZoumaYoncalla ___ Yumi Zouma's debut album, Yoncalla, due out May 27 on Cascine (and Arch Hill in Australia, Rallye in Japan and Double Deer in Indonesia). The band will embark on a tour in support of Yoncalla that stretches across New Zealand, North America, Europe and Japan starting next month. Dates below. Where Yumi Zouma’s previous EPs were created in isolation, capturing the nuances of each member’s life half a world away, the new material was given a singular voice. “Yumi Zouma has always been an exercise in refining ideas and collaborating,” reflects guitarist Charlie Ryder, “but this was the first time we weren’t limited or protected by distance. With Yoncalla, the process was different, and it can be scary to present raw ideas to your friends ‐ but it’s also incredible to see songs evolve through the sparks of inspiration that bounce between people in the same room.” That intimacy is apparent on Yoncalla ‐ an album about being close to people, rather than miles apart. Yumi Zouma’s effortless waves of harmony have been redefined and the creative process laid bare to expose an act more unguarded and interconnected than ever before. Additionally, Yoncalla sees Yumi Zouma continue their tradition of creating collectable vinyl releases, with the new album including a limited grey 7” that includes two studio outtakes from the recording sessions. The 7” will be bundled with the first 500 copies of the Yoncalla 12”. These outtakes are exclusive to the limited edition vinyl and will not appear digitally. To capture the concepts on Yoncalla, New Zealand visual artist Henrietta Harris was tapped to create the cover art, illustrating the band together on a front cover for the first time. Suddenly - Luka Sol

Premiere: Suddenly - Luka Sol

May 13, 2016 in stream

Following up on his previous singles Physical and Unknown, Suddenly is the new track from Luka Sol. Luka Sol is a solo artistic venture from LA-based musician Shawn Day.

Suddenly is another upbeat piece of positive electronic pop, perfect for poolside or beach listening as the weather heats up. There is a propulsive sense of motion in the bassline and drums - like careering down cliff side roads in a convertible, the track feels gorgeous and exciting.

Suddenly is out now. Check it out on Soundcloud below.

Recorded at Sol Studio and Crossroads of the World in Los Angeles, CA in 2016. Produced by Shawn Day and Courtney Ballard.
