this album was shit hot, best electronica album i've heard in a long time. I actually much prefer Engine7 to Sigur Ros as Engine7 cut out all the new age nonsense.

It's a concept album about the day in the life of his new born daughter, hence the 'not staggeringly late bedtime'. Perhaps you should have read up on Engine7 instead of misinterpreting the concept. D'oh!

Agree with the above comment, the album is a belter, and Mr Anonymous has given the album the time of day it deserves

Have picked this up, and it's a belter. Like the Sigur Ros comparison... definitely not a fan of the singer.

The wonders of differing opinions...BlackPlastic thinks the pre-Alkan Long Blondes lacks any real feeling. It all sounds far too much like No Doubt.

Not sure about Lafytron's latest either. The production seems to have the vocals too low in the mix and BP can't help but feel they've run out of ideas a little. The human edge that was breaking through on the last album seems to have vanished, although BlackPlastic hasn't listened all the way through yet...

I actually think Erol's over produced them on this and I've a feeling that after doing pretty well offa the first album they're gonna sink like a stone.
